Knit one, purl two...and a little crochet as well!

I taught myself to knit in 1986 during a short-lived move to Reston, Virginia. Missing friends and the familiar, I needed a project to occupy my evenings after work. I fell in love with a sweater pattern, sure to look great on the oh-so-handsome boyfriend still back in New York, but the woman in the yarn shop said that pattern wasn't for beginners. 36 years later, I'm still knitting, the guy and I are still friends, and, yup, he's still got that sweater! A decade later, and living back on Long Island for good, I challenged myself to learn crochet as well. Except for the way-too-hot-to-touch-yarn month of August, I usually get in at least a few rows of stitches every night, as the books in my TBR pile look on, growing jealous. I hope you'll enjoy the results of what keeps my stress down and my heart happy!
