It's almost February, the month of l-o-v-e!
Hard to believe it's been 6 weeks since four books launched...
...and my human is already back on the laptop, tapping away, working on the next one, two, maybe even three books (from what I've overheard her saying on her Zoom meetings!) Exciting, sure, except she hasn't yet figured out how to type AND pet ME at the same time!!
One moment...
Yup, it's Tate here. Just finishing up a meeting on Zoom with some really cool cats...be right with you...
So happy to be I'm back as your most purrfect blogger. Even though I'm a cat, and this is only my second blog, you all liked my first one so much I've been adopted into the role. I'm here to dish on the latest happenings at home and in the studio. Speaking of "dish," I think mine is empty. Hellooo--ooo!!
Love is in the air, so my mama is busy updating the online shoppe with some pretty new things for Valentine's day. I'm here to fill you in on what's been happening since we first met back in early December.
Out of the cardboard box:
I thought all of those boxes in the studio were for me to play in, but it turns out my human just kept filling them with books (of all things), then rushing them off to the post office...there went all the boxes I'd hoped to sit in! I saw her pack up some scarves, too, and even a few greeting cards...she was really busy in December! I'd like to think the rest of those boxes are for me, but I see an inventory of all four books lined up and ready to ship out. There's the two children's picture books: Blue Elephant Slumber, about facing a fear that might or might not be real, and Jewels for Jeannie, a coming-of-age journey to find the special talents that make us each unique. My human wrote and illustrated these! Meeoow! She's also partnered her poems with her photography in That Which I Once Loved, and even more of her pictures complement short essays in We See the Same Stars. All four titles are available here on the "author" page.
She not only writes her own work but has been assisting other writers to purrfectly punctuate and publish their works too. She really enjoys helping other writers and gently motivating them to get their work out into the world. Take a look at the "writer/editor" page which will be up and running in January, just in time to "book" (Ha, ha...for a cat I'm purretty funny) an appointment on her winter/spring or summer calendar. Do it soon...her calendar can fill up quick!
My human not only writes and edits, she also takes time away from playing with me when she sits at her art table to make sparkly greeting cards. Glitter and cats do not go well together...not that I'd know this. You can find these LOVE-ly items on her "artist" page...plenty of new designs just in time for Valentine's Day (her favorite holiday, by the way). But don't go by me...I'm I cat so I'm supposed to hate all that mushy stuff.
She knits every night, so she's always adding new things to the "maker" page...do check it out. I think she'll be adding some earrings, nice little gift for all your gal pals out there.
Still under construction, but she promises it'll be up and running soon, check out the "photographer" page, because if you buy one of the books with her images in it, you might fall in love with one of the pics so much so that you'd enjoy having it framed, or on a mug, a set of coasters, a calendar, or tote bag...she'd love to customize something just for you, or your loved one, or a friend, or me! I still want her to write a book that has pictures of cats...nothing but cats!
If you like Mid-century dishware, hand-thrown pottery, vintage jewelry and beaded handbags from days gone by, stop in again soon to check out the latest one-of-a-kind finds. There will be some timeless treasures and must-haves for the next collector who appreciates those sorts of things. Have a look at the "thrifter" page, coming in soon.
End of the "tail":
I think I just heard the can opener, so I'm gonna need to hightail it outta here, but I'm so glad you stopped by and took the time to read through to the end. This writing stuff is hard...I don't know how she does it. Then again, I'm a cat. Don't forget to sign up for my human's newsletter...she's won't pester you. There's also a spot on the "about" page where you can reach out to us, I mean her, with any questions.
Au revoir,
Tate, le Chat
