Welcome to the website!!

So many exciting things happening...

For starters, the very first book has just launched...

...AND so has the second, third and fourth book, too! Yes...exciting only begins to describe what's been going on around here while ramping up to send four long-time-coming, finally published works out into the world for all to (hopefully!) enjoy.

Let's Get Introduced!

Tate here. Blogger extraordinaire and purrfect in the role of social me-ow-dia maven. Yes, I'm a cat. My mama is new at this whole world wide website wonderland, so I've signed on as your guide to all things new and now available on these pages from my author-artist-maker human. While she's busy in the studio creating more things for you to peruse here on her brand new site and shop, let's you and I scamper around some.

Come take a look:

Just off the purr-esses, you'll find two children's picture books: Blue Elephant Slumber explores the concept of facing a fear that might be real or might not be there at all, while Jewels for Jeannie is a coming-of-age journey to discovering the special talents that make each of us unique. My human doesn't limit her talents to the writing...she illustrated these stories too! Meeoow, it's just so fun to tap those markers she uses until they roll off the desk.

Boxes of books have been arriving daily. Boxes! I love boxes! And they're not just filled with those first two books. Nope! She's also gone and collected a lifetime's worth of her poems and partnered them up with her photography in That Which I Once Loved. Me. She loves me! Okay, she's loved some other stuff too, according to this book. More of her pretty pictures complement a collection of short essays about her life in We See the Same Stars. The more of her books she sells, the more boxes I'll have for sitting in. Find her four titles, simultaneously debuting this month, on the "author" page.

And, she not only writes her own work but has been assisting other writers to purrfectly punctuate and publish their works too. I thought coaching was just for sports, but she helps to motivate and organize writers who want to send their work out into the world as well. If you're one of those writers, or wish to be, take a peak at the "writer/editor" page which will be up and running in January, just in time to "book" (Ha, ha...for a cat I'm purretty funny) an appointment on her winter/spring or summer calendar. Do it soon...I don't want to be running low on catnip.

When she's not writing or editing, or playing with me or feeding me, or feeding me again, my human is always busy. Sometimes she's carefully cutting and gluing galore these tiny folded bits of paper into what she calls greeting cards. You can find these types of creative endeavors on her "artist" page. Other times, when we cuddle up on the couch to stream indie film or binge PBS specials, she waggles these long skinny sticks that go click-click-click and turns bits of stringy strands into scarves and hats and baby blankies, oh my! I'm not allowed near those beautiful balls of yarn...I'm not allowed...not allowed. Not. Her gorgeous knit and crochet work will keep you warm or make a nice gift for a friend or new baby. Christmas is coming...get out your list and have a look at the "maker" page to discover a special something for under the tree. The tree! So sparkly. I will not climb it, I will not...I will...

It's under construction right now, but in a few weeks, you can check out the "photographer" page too, because if you buy one of the books with her images in it, you might fall in love with one of the pics so much so that you'd enjoy having it framed, or on a mug, a set of coasters, a calendar, or tote bag...you decide and she'll be happy to customize it for you, I know she will. I wonder if there are any pictures of, say, cats.

Lastly, this funky lady I live with is real big on re-homing things...like Mid-century dishware, hand-thrown pottery, collectibles, and some shiny, dangly things like vintage earrings and necklaces. Come to think of it, thanks to her I was re-homed...that's how she got me! I'm staying put here since I've got it pretty good, but there are some timeless treasures and gem-like gotta-haves ready to be passed to the next person who appreciates those sorts of things. After all the holiday fuss, stop by and have a look at the "thrifter" page, coming in January, to buy up a by-gone era's bargain or two.

End of the "tail":

Okay, catnap time for me and time for you to click on the home-page pictures and stroll around the site. Don't forget to sign up for my human's newsletter...she's not the type to pester you...pestering is my job. There's also a spot on the "about" page where you can reach out to us, I mean her, with any questions.

Tootles for now,

Tate the Cat
